Where Are They Now: Checking in with Interns of Days Gone By

Posted: March 14, 2014

As you may have noticed from my previous blog posts, we’re pretty proud of our intern program. Our interns constantly contribute to the success of the company and bring a fresh perspective to the team. We can only hope our interns will get as much out of their time at VisionPoint as we get from them.

One of the best parts about working with our interns is seeing where they go after their time with us. I’d like to take this opportunity to brag a little bit about what some of our past interns have accomplished and what their plans are for the future.

Kelsey Sullivan

Project Manager Intern

Kelsey Sullivan started with VisionPoint in the spring semester of 2013. She was a project manager intern and a graduate student at Elon University. Shortly after leaving VisionPoint, Kelsey accepted a position as the Business and Marketing Strategist for Backyard Produce & Market based in Raleigh, N.C. She is responsible for managing the company’s social media community and all other marketing initiatives. She is also heavily involved in the operations side of the company.

Rachel Purvis

Graphic Design Intern
Summer 2013

Rachel Purvis came to us all the way from Auburn University as a graphic design intern in summer 2013. In addition to putting a creative spin on many of our website design and branding projects, Rachel had a special way of making everyone smile. Set to graduate in May 2014, she hopes to pursue a career with a focus on branding and identity in graphic design. Through her experience at VisionPoint, Rachel learned how to help a client express themselves visually and hopes that this experience will translate well into her future career.

Tyler Bonin

Project Manager Intern
Fall 2013

Tyler Bonin joined VisionPoint in the fall of 2013 as a project manager intern. He is currently enrolled at Duke University and is on schedule to complete his master’s program and graduate in May 2014. During his time at VisionPoint, Tyler had the opportunity to dive into many different aspects of higher education marketing. He was particularly interested in SEO, which he found especially intriguing given his own experience searching for academic programs. Tyler is still determining his plans for the future. He originally had his sights set on returning to school for a Ph.D., but may be taking a break from academia to get some experience in the field. With a special interest in international affairs, there is no telling where Tyler’s next adventure will take him.

Christin Nein

Project Manager Intern
Fall 2013

Christin Nein came to VisionPoint in the fall of 2013 as a project manager intern. She was an essential member of the team and assisted with a variety of projects. Christen helped oversee a massive website audit and was a key contributor to the project’s success. Christin recently accepted a position as an Account Coordinator for Coalmarch Productions, a fast-growing company located right here in Raleigh, NC. We’re all very excited for her and glad that she stayed close by. In her new job, she is responsible for managing marketing and website projects. Her experience at VisionPoint helped her jump right into managing web content using a content management system.

Our team is incredibly proud of what our interns have accomplished so far and we’re honored to have contributed to their success. I’m looking forward to seeing what new heights they reach in the future.
