Chriss Thompson
Vice President of Media & Process Excellence

Bio
Chriss is a natural-born leader with an aptitude for growth: be it campaign results, client business, or internal talent. He pilots our bread-and-butter Media & Optimization operation across multiple client partner projects, from market research and strategic planning to campaign execution across digital and traditional channels, full-funnel measurement, and reporting. He draws from nearly a quarter century of experience in corporate leadership, positioning our cross-functional team for success and driving breakthrough results for our higher ed client partners.
“The work our Media & Optimization Team does allows our partners thrive in the face of new realities like increased competition, shifting demographics, eroding perceptions, declining enrollment, and decreased marketing budgets,” says Chriss. “We bring a multi-disciplined, conversion-oriented focus to each higher education marketing challenge and craft custom strategies that respond directly to our partners’ situations and goals.”
Prior to VisionPoint, Chriss helped scale-up a digital marketing agency in Kansas City, helping the firm to win several awards, including “Top Digital Marketing Firm” and “Inc. 5000 Fastest-Growing companies” recognition two years in a row. Chriss brings an invaluable outside perspective to our higher ed client partners’ marketing challenges, having worked with regional brands and Fortune 500 companies in leadership roles that span client service, human resources, finance, product, web, and marketing. He thrives under the bright lights of both client-side and internal expectations, which he regularly exceeds with an assured charisma reminiscent of his idols, Winston Churchill and Teddy Roosevelt.
When not charging head-on into the thick of our client partners’ marketing challenges, you might find Chriss either fishing in peace or exploring the craft beer scene of Raleigh and Durham with his wife and their two dogs, Murphy and Ollie.
