Director of Web Production
As Director of Web Production, Billy Hylton leads our team of web designers, developers, and information architects with vision and strategic direction to create web-based solutions for our clients that exceed their marketing goals.
“As Director of Web Production at VisionPoint, I serve our clients by being driven by our values (our Vision Points), leading a web team that works in close partnership with key units across our organization to meet client needs, and a focus on problem solving,” Billy says.
Billy brings to our clients and our web team two decades of experience in digital solutions and web production. A portion of that time was spent at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he oversaw design, development, and content management services for central IT and the greater university community. He combines his higher ed knowledge with his technical experience, and leverages both to lead our web design and development processes, provide clarity and effectiveness to technical documentation, and oversee our high quality of web development work.
Well-versed in industries ranging from higher education and state government to tech startups and marketing agencies, Billy brings to our clients unrivaled consultative leadership in executing their web projects. His ease at cross-team collaboration is backed by his various leadership roles, including his most recent role as digital solutions director for the North Carolina Department of Information Technology. There, Billy led a $2MM cross-agency initiative that transformed the state’s web presence and included site redesigns and Drupal-implementations for key agencies, the Governor’s Office, State Portal (NC.gov), and more. His deep expertise has been instrumental in leading many key initiatives for the state of North Carolina.
Outside of his outstanding leadership on our web team, Billy loves to spend his free time with his kids and in his community. Whether it’s attending one of his daughter’s competitive jump-roping competitions, skateboarding with his son, hitting a bike trail, or contributing to Table NC – a non-profit in N.C. that provides healthy, emergency food aid every week to people in need – Billy’s mentality of living by his values infuses everything he does.
“Vulnerability sounds like truth and feels like courage. Truth and courage aren’t always comfortable, but they’re never weakness.”
