Amber Essary is an Account Manager on the VisionPoint team, acting as the primary point of contact and advocate for her clients. She works closely with account strategists, integrated marketing, website and creative resources to keep all the key components of client campaigns running smoothly and ensures that client deliverables are on target and on time.
Amber began her career as a content and social media specialist on the marketing team, writing and editing content across a variety of digital channels and launching and managing clients’ digital ad campaigns. That breadth of experience gave Amber a view into every facet of our work for clients, from research to strategy to full-funnel marketing execution.
Amber is a stellar communicator, so the move to Account Services was a natural choice. Now as an Account Manager, Amber uses her extensive communications and project management skills to guide our clients through every stage of complex integrated engagements. As part of her client support role, she strives to create a bridge between clients and our VisionPoint team resources, acting as a strong advocate for client goals and forging strong collaborative relationships.
“One of my favorite sayings here at VisionPoint is that we’re ‘in-the-trenches’ with our clients because it embodies how we’re driven to give collaborative support and make the client’s challenges our challenges too,” says Amber. “I love being an advocate for the clients I support and forging strong relationships with them because we’re more than just a vendor — we’re invested in their success.”
Amber is a graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill where she earned her B.A. in Psychology. Before joining VisionPoint, she gained experience at a public relations agency and a consulting firm, managing social media outlets, writing and managing blogs and performing social media audits.
Amber is a great advocate of international experience; after graduating from UNC-Chapel Hill, she spent two years abroad in Spain, teaching English (among other subjects) in bilingual public schools. Higher ed is in her DNA: her mother was a professor of law at Baylor University and later, Dean of Campbell Law school where she is now a part of their faculty. As Amber says, “The importance of higher education is my North Star.”
When she’s not collaborating with clients, Amber is an avid runner and is trying to master her backhand in tennis. She volunteers with USCRI (U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants) and is involved with Learning Together, a pre-school in downtown Raleigh that serves children of all different types of developmental needs. She loves to cook and is always striving to recreate her favorite Spanish recipes. Next up: the perfect paella.
“Let us pick up our books and our pens, they are the most powerful weapons.”
