BUILDING AN INTUITIVE AND ENGAGING DIGITAL EXPERIENCE

A RENEWED FOCUS

Walters State Community College in Morristown, Tennessee, serves nearly 4,000 undergraduate students. When they approached us about a website redesign, we aimed to showcase Walters State at its best while elevating the content strategy, carrying out user journeys, and constructing comprehensive program pages and a program finder.

THE POWER OF FIRST IMPRESSIONS

A captivating home page isn’t just about visuals; it’s about telling the Walters State story. In building the new experience, we ensured that all of our content – text, images, and videos – genuinely reflected the institution’s mission.

We developed a streamlined content strategy focused on sharing relevant, timely, and audience-centric content on the home page, all in an effort to showcase the life-changing experience of a Walters State education.

A PURPOSEFUL NAVIGATION SYSTEM

Our information architecture work focused on effective content organization. Our objective was to help users find information effortlessly and ensure all pieces cohesively contribute to the overall site picture.

Based on surveys, analytics, and best practices, we optimized our main navigation to recommend five main categories: Academics, Admissions, Cost and Aid, Student services, and About.

PROGRAM PAGES

The new program pages for Walters State are thorough, yet concise. We aimed to provide a holistic view of each program through brief descriptions, course details, faculty profiles, and success stories. With these pages, prospects can understand the value of each program at a glance.

Our focus on effective navigation trickled down to the program pages as well. The program finder feature allows users to filter through options and find programs most suited to them, ensuring a more personalized and efficient user experience.

Together, we were able to craft an experience that showcases the best of Walters State Community College and serves our users efficiently. Watch a video walkthrough of their website below:
