When we first met, UNC Charlotte was in the midst of steady admissions growth. The fourth-largest university in North Carolina, UNC Charlotte sought not simply to increase the quantity of undergraduate applicants in general, but to proactively shape and increase the quality of its incoming students.
VisionPoint designed and developed the website in a way that illustrates the unique experience of becoming a UNC Charlotte 49er. We built a parallax scrolling effect which gives a layered feel without distracting from what’s most important: what it’s like to live on campus, the urban city of Charlotte, aerial views of the University and featured student testimonials which show – not just tell – what the 49er experience is all about.
In order to prompt incoming students to take the next step, UNC Charlotte needed to evoke not just a rational response, but an emotional engagement with the University. The new website combines a dynamic user experience with consistent calls-to-action, inviting prospective students and their families toconnect with the University by attending information sessions and personalized campus tours.
