He partners with each client to create integrated marketing strategies that closely align with institutional goals and achieve measurable success. Dana combines quantitative and qualitative data points to develop unique insights and approaches unique to every client’s needs. He is driven by the belief that institutions can use data and integrated marketing approaches to make genuine connections to prospects — at any scale.

Dana brings to our clients a rich portfolio of experiences in marketing and media. At Virginia Tech, he guided communications and marketing for a $60 million grant funded by the U.S. Army to promote STEM education and helped develop branding strategies for the university’s Continuing and Professional Education office. He previously worked as an associate producer creating the Discovery Channel’s international websites and served as a strategic communications advisor to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. As a senior media officer at the National Science Foundation, he created strategies and content explaining nanotechnology, cybersecurity and other subjects. He has generated earned media placements from CNN, the journals Science and Nature, the Oprah Winfrey Show, Wired and other outlets.
Dana is a graduate of American University in Washington, DC, and holds a master of organizational communication degree from Bowie State University and a master of public health degree from Virginia Tech.
A native of Ithaca, NY, Dana lives with his family in Blacksburg, Virginia, where he is active with Rotary International. When he’s not drafting marketing strategies, he likes to continue his attempts at mastering gluten-free baking and make music with his family.
