We’re taking the story of Western Carolina University’s website redesign from coast to coast! Following this week’s presentation in Nashville, I’ll head to the OmniUpdate User Training Conference in Los Angeles.

Every year, OUTC brings together institutions from across the country who are currently using OUCampus as their content management system. This event is an opportunity for higher ed marketers and web professionals to collaborate about common challenges and learn the latest features that offer effective solutions.

Here’s a small sample of what I’ll be sharing on Tuesday at 2:00 pm in the Emerald Room.

The Blueprints of a Brand-Driven Website: How to Build a Website that Embodies Your Brand Story

Far too many higher ed institutions approach website redesigns as cosmetic endeavors, jumping straight to visual design and skipping past the critically important information architecture and content strategy. When Western Carolina University hired a new marketing director, it would have been easy to merely give the dated website a design facelift. Instead, they led university stakeholders on an ambitious journey to reimagine wcu.edu, transforming the website into a meaningful encounter with the Western Carolina brand. Join VisionPoint Marketing as they unveil the blueprints for a brand-driven website strategy, giving attendees a step-by-step process for re-architecting their own institutions’ websites.

This will be VisionPoint’s third year attending the conference as an OmniUpdate partner. As always, we’re excited to learn more about OUCampus and get a look at what other institutions are doing to improve their web presence. Follow #OUTC16 and @vispoint for updates throughout the event.

If you won’t be able to make it out to LA, but you’re interested in hearing how WCU built a brand-focused website using the OUCampus CMS, let me know. I’d be happy to share the presentation slides following the event.
