VisionPoint Marketing is looking for a proven leader and expert project manager to join our growing team as the Director of Account Services. The Director is ultimately accountable for leading our Account Services team to follow consistent, quality processes for project management that deliver exceptional work on time, on budget and on strategy, serving clients who are not only satisfied but enthusiastic about the quality of our partnerships. We’re looking for a lead-by-example sort of manager who is sincerely passionate about project management, who will manage and mentor our team of Account Managers while also actively managing a small portfolio of accounts as well.

NOTE: At VisionPoint, the Account Services team is not the sales team, and this is not a sales position. We are looking for an expert in consultative client-facing project management, ideally in a marketing or creative agency context.  

What You’ll Do

Manage the Account Services Team.

  • Cast a vision and set measurable client satisfaction and project completion goals for the Account Services team (in relationship to the larger company vision / goals) and lead the team to accomplish those goals.

  • Establish and hold Account Managers accountable to clearly defined performance standards and metrics for success.

  • Lead weekly team meetings to identify, discuss and solve team issues.

  • Under the leadership of the Vice President and the President & CEO, manage the ongoing staffing needs of the Account Services team.

  • Lead the recruiting, hiring and training process for new Account Managers.

  • Manage the individual growth, professional development and performance of each direct report.

  • Actively support direct reports by mentoring, problem-solving, overcoming obstacles, and serving as a first-level escalation point for helping to resolve client issues.

  • Lead the 90-day and annual performance evaluations for direct reports.

  • Create, maintain, provide access to current job descriptions and growth charts for each direct report, and deliver consistent feedback, both positive and constructive.

  • As a member of the company’s leadership team, actively participate in identifying, raising and solving company-wide issues in pursuit of our vision and goals.

 

Steward our project management processes.

  • Oversee the continuous improvement of project management processes to drive more efficient production, smoother collaboration, clearer communication between our team and our clients, and better quality work.

  • Ensure our Account Managers are fully adept in leveraging our project management software and other tools to manage the company’s cross-functional production across our full breadth of projects.

  • Lead cross-functional company production meetings on a weekly basis to ensure Account Managers, Strategists, Team Leads and Resources are prepared to manage and execute on productive priorities across the full breadth of VisionPoint’s active projects.

  • Hold Account Managers accountable to successfully and consistently following established processes.

  • Contribute as a subject matter expert in strengthening and executing the company’s cross-functional processes.

 

Lead by example through active account management.

  • Manage a small portfolio of especially complex or strategically challenging accounts, thereby contributing directly to our clients’ success while demonstrating the company’s standard for exceptional project management and client services.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts, ensuring that all work helps clients achieve their targeted business goals and objectives.

  • Build strong relationships with clients through active consultation, direct and straightforward communication, and a willingness to meet and overcome challenges head-on.

  • Demonstrate a keen ability to manage and collaborate effectively with VisionPoint’s resources across our various teams, serving their needs and positioning them to do exceptional work for our clients while also cultivating a spirit of empathy and interest in the client’s strategic situation.

  • Build and manage detailed and creative project plans, allocating internal and external resources effectively against established timelines to deliver results.

  • Proactively address the concerns of both our clients and our resources, following up and collaborating until the best outcome is achieved.

  • Organize and document all project notes, communications and decisions in clear and concise terms, ensuring that all interested parties have access to a usable, useful body of project knowledge.

  • Manage all administrative tasks such as billing and hourly budgets for assigned projects.

 

Are you a perfect fit?

The ideal candidate would possess the following skills, interests and experience.

  • A minimum 5+ years of project management experience, with 2+ years of supervisory management experience.

  • Expert project manager with proven experience managing complex projects in a marketing, technical and/or creative context. Project management certifications are a bonus.

  • Demonstrate solid leadership, confidence and teamwork, with logical decision-making skills. Ability to motivate and manage others to achieve measurable goals.

  • Exceptional communication skills (including written, conversational, and verbal presentation skills).

  • Process-oriented leader with ability to recognize and solve not just individual challenges but systemic issues through process improvement.

  • Strong attention to detail and focus on task completion.

  • Ability to work in cross-functional teams and in high-pressure situations at a fast pace.

  • Ability to manage stress and to manage others who are carrying heavy loads.

  • Willingness to simultaneously tackle multiple projects and challenges
