It seems that our red-haired friend is becoming more popular. OneStat, an analytics solution, is reporting their aggregate numbers on browser usage. It’s not surprising that Firefox has gained steam so quickly. The feature set is so much stronger than IE and the user experience is vastly better.
Those of us in web production prefer Firefox also. Internet Explorer has a way of taking valid code and turning it into a tangled mess. Much of our production time is spent fixing sites for IE. So cheers to the guys at Firefox lets hope that the competition continues to heat up.

David, in the past, I ONLY used Internet Explorer….then someone showed me how to be much more efficient in my browsing by using the tabs in Firefox. I’ve never looked back. My guess is that other IE users are trying out Firefox because of one piece of functionality (there’s many to choose from unlike IE) and staying with it as their primary browser b.c the user experience is SOOOO much better.

I couldn’t agree more. The time spent adjusting your perfect code just to make IE behave is ridiculous, Let’s hope IE 7 is a giant step forward. I’m not holding my breath though.
